ABOUT THE RESTAURANT

MISSION

The Harvest is dedicated to provided meals that are universally nutritious and delicious, using fresh ingredients from local farms to provide a safe location for people with Celiac disease and other autoimmune conditions. The purpose of the restaurant’s branding is to provide customer-friendly visual cues and information for ingredients in each meal that may hold potential health risks to the diner with a digestive condition; these foods include ingredients, such as gluten, wheat, soy products, dairy, and more.  According to the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, An estimated 1 in 133 Americans, or about 1% of the population, has celiac disease. Additionally, It is estimated that 83% of Americans who have celiac disease are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with other conditions.

DESIGN

The Harvest combines modern geometric design sensibilities with hand-drawn illustrations, to exude a straightforward yet homemade quality. The branding and visual identity of the restaurant is meant to convey the philosophy of purity in the food creating clear and explicit menus and signage that are inviting to all restaurant-goers. The primary typography, Harvest Deco (designed by Evan Pittson), is unique to The Harvest, alluding to classic Italian and French food signage, establishing a modern and sophisticated visual presence. Combined with the texture of creamy paper and colored pen illustrations, the brand exudes both elegance and warmth.

GLUTEN-FREE

Gluten is a protein composite found in foods processed from wheat and related grain species, including barley, rye and spelt. So if you’re following a gluten free diet this is the place for you! All of our menu items are 100% gluten free. We offer 5 types of gluten free Beer, as well as a diverse selection of organic wine with no sulfites added. We understand the seriousness of the gluten allergy and Celiac disease so we take extra precautions by having separate stations, tools, refrigeration and utensils for all of our gluten free dishes.
